Position Details & Responsibilities

Position Specifics:

Department:        Product Support

Reports to:          General Manager

Supervises:          General Parts Manager, Parts and Service Customer Service Representative (CSR), Service Manager

Purpose:

Leads the organization’s product support business efforts in alignment with the organization’s financial and operational objectives to maximize profitability.  Attracts, retains, and effectively engages department personnel.

Essential Functions:

  • Develops and implements the Product Support Strategic Business Plan for the organization
  • Develops, communicates, enforces, and monitors effective Parts and Service processes to ensure internal and external customer satisfaction
  • Creates and monitors annual Parts and Service Department goals and budget in alignment with the organization’s financial and operational objectives
  • Develops and executes Parts and Service Department marketing plan and monitors to ensure achievement of established goals
  • Manages the organization’s Customer Satisfaction Program
  • Develops and implements the Parts and Service Department employee compensation plans
  • Manages recruiting, staffing and employee development and career path activities for employees reporting to this position
  • Understands and ensures adherence to corporate and customer data policies

Qualifications

Experience, Education, Skills and Knowledge

  • 1+ years experience managing Service or Parts Department operations
  • 3+ years experience working in Service and Parts Department operations
  • Proficiency in using standard computer applications such as Microsoft Office, internet functions, Deere systems and dealer business systems
  • Thorough knowledge of John Deere, competitive and allied products
  • Ability to write and speak effectively to individuals and groups
  • Demonstrated leadership, organizational, management, interpersonal, analytical and communication skills
  • Ability to analyze and interpret internal reports
  • Excellent understanding of financial principles relative to Parts and Service Department operations
  • Associates degree or equivalent experience required; bachelor’s degree preferred
