Hoffman’s Piscataway location is a full service branch offering customer’s equipment sales, rentals, shop & field service, and parts.  This location is an authorized distributor for industry leading brands including: Liebherr, Manitowoc, Grove, National Crane, Doosan, JCB and PTC vibratory hammers. It is also a certified Manitowoc Cranes Certified EnCore Rebuild location.

Position Details: Service Manager, Construction Equipment

Hoffman Equipment is looking for a Service Manager to manage the construction equipment service business of our Piscataway, NJ location . This manager will be expected to have a ‘hands on’ approach with all service activities while creating a productive and teamwork oriented work environment.

Responsibilities include:

Responsible for overseeing and supervising all shop and field service operations for construction equipment in New Jersey including but not limited to: technicians, office staff, shop foreman, company tools and equipment, and department policies and procedures.

Responsible for customer service, fast and accurate job estimating, updating customers as to the status of their repair, outbound calling, making sure inbound calls and emails are answered, and achieving excellent customer satisfaction.

Provide direction and leadership required to achieve professional technical services.

Conduct service meetings and training sessions to communicate company objectives and policies, to develop technical skills, and encourage employee participation and personal growth.

Responsible for determining repair methodologies and job flows to maximize the effectiveness, efficiency, and customer satisfaction of all service functions.

Work with Director of Product Support to adjust, add, and remove department procedures, policies, and functions as necessary to increase profitability and customer service.

Establish and maintain relationships with manufacturers, learn manufacturer systems and procedures, and manage operational procedures between Hoffman and manufacturers.

Work with branch managers as required to grow branch service sales and increase customer satisfaction while ensuring conformity of processes with same goals and measurements.

Actively work with customers to solve problems and communicate service work as required.

Create and maintain an environment that promotes customer service

Work with Shop Foreman, Dispatcher, and Director of Product Support to create short term and long term goals for training technicians.

Work to create and maintain “in-house” training programs for training technicians and staff on routine skills and company policies.



Construction equipment and management experience
