Position Details & Responsibilities

TranSource Truck & Equipment, Inc.is looking to hire a General Service Manager at our Sioux Falls location. We are the Premier Mack Truck and Volvo Equipment Dealer in the State of South Dakota. We are a growing company and are looking for people who are seeking a rewarding and stable career.

Our General Service Manager would be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our Truck and Equipment Service Operations at our three South Dakota branch locations.

Primary Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Work closely with branch service managers, technicians and service writers to ensure that the company and branch goals are met or exceeded. Ensure that policies and procedures are adhered to.
  • Occasional travel to the Rapid City and Aberdeen branches to meet with employees, customers and vendors.
  • Full profit and loss accountability for all service departments. Actively engage in the company’s overall business strategies and develop and adhere to budgets.
  • Responsible for hiring service personnel at all branches. Actively participate in career fairs at technical schools.
  • Monitor service truck fleet, all shop equipment, shop building and grounds.
  • Provide assistance to branch managers to resolve difficult customer issues and service problems in a prompt and efficient manner to stabilize our credibility with the customer.
  • Work with the warranty administrator on a daily basis to ensure that all warranties are filed in a timely manner.
  • Recruit and call on current and potential new customers and assist our parts and sales department in creating a marketing strategy for an increase in sales.
  • Develop and arrange training for all service department employees either on or off site.
  • Safety Director for a companywide safety program and supporting a safe culture within the dealership.
  • Manage EPA, OSHA, MSHA and DOT compliance. 


  • Bachelor degree, 2 year technical degree or several years of comparable shop experience.
  • Prior service management experience is a plus.
  • Strong leadership and negotiation skills.
  • Positive attitude and the desire to provide outstanding and professional customer service.
  • Must have insurable driving record.
  • Proficient computer skills.
