Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers has an immediate opening for a full-time Lead Generation Representative (Inside Sales) for our office in Forth Worth, Texas. In this role you`ll promote Ritchie Bros. by providing follow-up care to customers through outbound warm calling, and by identifying potential leads for further business.

The Opportunity:

The Lead Generation Representative is responsible for driving outbound call campaigns in SalesForce to generate opportunities to drive Ritchie Bros. growth. The goal of each customer engagement is to uncover opportunities for Ritchie Bros. to act as a Trusted Advisor and enable our customers’ success while driving our growth. A successful Lead Generation Rep makes 40-60 outbound calls per day, reaches 15-20 decision makers, and secures 3-5 qualified leads/opportunities. This role is built as a development pipeline to fill Territory Mgr. roles in the future.

Key Responsibilities:

Drive origination of qualified leads

  • Research, develop lists of, and contact lists of, and contact new potential consignors by phone and email to actively develop qualified leads to be sent to our sales staff in the field.
  • Have in-depth conversations with potential consignors about their equipment makes, models, hours, condition, etc
  • Explain to potential consignors how Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers works and how our Territory Managers can guide them through the entire lifecycle of their equipment as their trusted advisor.
  • Input all qualified leads into Salesforce.com for immediate action by TMs in the field.
  • Lead Generation Reps are responsible for following up with the TM and customer to make sure the lead is actioned on a timely basis.

Develop your selling skills

  • Getting past the gatekeeper
  • Handling objections
  • Refining the RBA value proposition
  • Cross-selling other RBA services (financing, insurance, equipment refurbishment, etc.)
  • Closing the sale

Become knowledgeable of our marketplace

  • Learn about our territories,  sale sites, and our customers
  • Engage with our field staff
  • Equipment Training
  • Keep up to date on industry trends and regulations
  • Stay current with any special offers from RBA


  • 1-2 years of experience in telesales or a lead generating role
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Equipment knowledge preferred, but not required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic understanding of e-commerce and comfortable discussing technology with customers
  • Fluency in English is required.  Fluency in Spanish or another second language is an asset.
  • Demonstrate effectiveness through weekly reports to track performance and results
  • Strong active listening and decision making skills
  • High sense of urgency, and outstanding time management/organizational skills
  • Experience working with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and/or any CRM tools would be considered an asset
  • A sense of humor and the ability to have fun on the job.
