Position Details & Responsibilities

National Maintenance Services, an independent, nationwide, material handling maintenance and service company, is searching for a Territory Service Manager to oversee their Northeast territory.  This person can reside anywhere in the Mid-Atlantic/Northeast corridor. 

The Territory Service Manager will oversee all maintenance operations performed by company employees to include, meeting objectives and ensuring that services meet or exceed established standards by performing the following duties:

  • All NMS employees own customer satisfaction and customer retention
  • Manage Field Technicians
    • Manage technicians’ schedules
      • Daily / weekly assignments
      • 100% of available service time billable in work orders
      • Ensure all minimum NMS standards are followed
      • Plan, approve, and cover technician time off
        • Vacation
        • Other PTO
      • Ensure accuracy of all information submitted by technicians
        • Payroll recordkeeping inputs
        • Work order completion and accuracy
          • 100% of daily labor covered
          • 100% of parts included
          • Current part cost for all parts on W/O
          • All freight costs in W/O
        • Be responsible for Coaching, Correction, and Terminations
  • Safety
    • Conduct safety meetings as required (min. quarterly)
      • Keep accurate meeting attendance
      • Place meeting materials and attendance records in Safety Binder
      • Allow meeting attendees to present safety topic being highlighted
    • Adhere to OSHA, CAL-OSHA, and IIPP standards
    • Comply with Customer safety policies
    • Report any accidents immediately to both Human Resources and your immediate supervisor
    • OSHA and IIPP training for new hires
    • OSHA / IIPP annual re-training of all technicians
  • Manage Customer Maintenance Needs From a “Service Perspective”
    • Visit Technicians / site as needed – recommend monthly
    • Attend meetings that deal with Service issues
    • Supply customer with service related reports as requested
      • Daily status reports
      • Vehicle status reports
      • Others
    • Be visible to your assigned customer frequently – Carry the Flag
  • Hire and Train New Technicians
    • Be part of the interview and selection process
    • Make sure all paperwork is complete and returned to Human Resources as required
  • Parts Management
    • Inventory – monitor to make sure inventory are at correct levels
    • Work with Accounting Department to make sure cycle counts are completed as required.
    • Be informed of all MAJOR repairs and parts purchases
  • New Site set up
    • Establish and follow the S.O.P. for new site set up
    • Manage the process of new site setup
    • Train new Technicians on our S.O.P. and daily expectations
  • Technology
    • Fleet management and data analytics
    • Implement new technologies
    • Training on new and existing technologies
    • Ongoing support to Technicians and other TSMs

Perform other related duties, as required.

Always represent National Maintenance Services in a professional manner.

Qualifications

Education/Experience: High School Diploma or GED and 10 years Material Handling equipment repair/maintenance experience. Previous supervisory experience preferred.

Licenses/Certifications: Valid Driver’s License. OSHA 10 hr certificate.

Technical: Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications & internet. Ability to work with basic office equipment & phone systems. Ability to use Vehicle GPS System.  Working knowledge of OSHA requirements,

Must be willing to travel and coordinate/manage out of state repairs and maintenance as the need arises

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must be able to: frequently lift 50-60 pounds; load, unload & move large equipment/tools; access confined spaces; continuously walk and climb stairs and ladders.
